An earthquake in the ocean connected to the Master Emerald causes a new island to float up. Knuckles, believing it might have some clues about the lost civilation goes to check it out. But open reaching the island, Dr. Robotnik has already set up base. Finding carvings of the Chaos Ring, Dr. Robotnik has made the Dark Ring and has frozen the Chaotix.
