Cannon's Core- What! Why doesn't the cannon fire!? Eggman is enraged. But, on the screen, appears Professor Gerald Robotnik. Sonic and Knuckles run into the research facility. Rouge comes in with some bad news. Her boss has just informed her that the ARK is moving towards Earth at an incredible velocity. But, on the screen is Gerald Robotnik again. All across the Earth, Robotnik is broadcasted. In a cell, bound in chains, he explains that the space colony will reach Earth in a 30 minute period.
Eggman walks in, explaining that was his grandfather, and presenting his diary. Putting it into the computers, it explains about the project Shadow, and what happened 50 years ago. Shadow was created to benefit mankind. But, when G.U.N came, they shut down the colony, probably to make sure that the colony didn't fall into the wrong hands, under the premise that there had been an accident. But, when he found that Maria had been killed in the shutting down of the colony, he went insane. Instead, he created Shadow to be the one to take revenge on the planet.
The colony is still crashing towards Earth. The only way to stop it is to stop the energy from the Chaos Emeralds. The plan is to take the shortcut to the core, and to use the Master Emerald to stop the energy from the Chaos Emeralds. But, to do it, everyone must pull together, and work fast.
Starting with Tails, then Eggman, Rouge, Knuckles, then Sonic, you have to work your way through one huge stage to get to the core. It sure isn't easy, so it's going to take everything you've got!
